This tool is made in China and is my go to tool for working around your house. Easy to use and the blade is sharp! Easy to get into tight places and scrape off uneven surfaces and blemishes.

I used this 5 in 1 tool to scrape up stuck on tiles that melted to the subfloor, cleaned and prepped my kitchen cabinets to paint, and used it to break the toilet seal when discarding an old toilet and adding a new one.

The tool is versatile and I use it to open and seal paint cans as well. It doesn't bend and damage the ridge the way a screwdriver can and is so easy to use. I can't say enough about this tool! I bought a second pack and gave one to my parents and sibling. Many painter recommend this enough! Also worked wonders on my cast iron radiators, pulling up old linoleum sheeting in the bathroom, and the sharp corner made removing old caulk a breeze.

This is the first tool to buy for caulk removal. I finished today a week long tub caulk removal job that was hard as rock. I could not have done it without this tool. I did purchase some a caulk softner that helped I used over a week to weaken it, and by itself was not enough. I also purchased a Plastic removal tool that that broke in minutes. The other tool I had to get was a heat gun to help soften it more than the softner. Probably could have done it without the softner and just the heat gun and this tool.

Grateful two scrapers came in a single package and arrived timely. These inexpensive, but durable scrapers work really well and fit in an adult’s hand fine. I am female, and my adult son used one, no problem. We used them to take 20+ years of very strong shower glue off bathroom walls. The glue was extremely thick and uneven. We tried different tools to prep the walls for a new shower.

Main functions include scraping away old paint and debris from surfaces, spreading compound, clean cracks, pull nails, curved scraper, open paint cans, metal hammer cap, and removing paint from standard and mini sized roller covers for better cleaning.

What I didnt get was a razor blade. That is needed to have nice connections to old caulk. I ripped out a little too much and jagged. I also used rubber gloves and paper towels. I had mold all over so I also had kill and remove that after removal. What I did not use was pliers, but I see that maybe needed. This tool can handle a lot of force on it, and moreover it is cheaper. Buy this as your first tool to get. Dont think about it...this is the correct tool to get. Get this one first! - Review of Peter from UK

Tips:

Paint Scraper  has a flat steel blade and a handle of wood, plastic, or metal. Its uses are many, among them removing wallpaper or paint after they’ve been softened with heat, and it can be wielded in a grip similar to that you use to hold a screwdriver. The blade is used at a shallow angle to the surface being stripped, and the paper, paint, or other material peels up as the blade is advanced.

Another way to use the paint scraper that is particularly useful when scraping a wood surface is by gripping the blade with both hands, pinching it between the middle and forefingers and thumb of each hand. Bow the blade a little with the pressure of your thumbs to prevent the corners from digging into the wood. Angle it slightly away from you, and push the scraper across the surface. Scrape with the grain. This is a tool that becomes easier to use with practice, so you may want to experiment and master the technique before trying to strip a piece that will end up at front and center in your home.

Paint Scrapers are a good deal more intriguing and useful than they may at first appear. One of the edges is “sharpened” in order that the tool can smooth wood, usually hardwood. It won’t lift the grain of the wood and, while it performs something of the same function as sandpaper, its waste products are small shavings rather than dust.

A  paint scraper will remove as much material as medium-grade abrasive paper without introducing the countless little scratches that sandpaper leaves behind.

Another advantage is that the paint scraper’s shavings are easily brushed off, while the sanding dust can clog the grain of the wood. There is simply no newfangled machine that can do as good a job at producing a smooth finish on a wood surface. The scraper will also allow you to work in areas much smaller than those you could smooth even with a block plane, and without encroaching upon adjacent portions of the wood.

The cutting edge on the paint scraper is actually a tiny burr, a small projecting lip at the edge of the tool. Almost imperceptible to the human eye, the burr (or hook, as it is also called) makes the scraper a very efficient smoothing tool.
