Paint & Coating Applicators:

Paints are coating substances that color, protect, and provide texture to surfaces or objects. Paints may be brushed, sprayed, dabbed or dipped onto a surface to create a coating. Paint equipment and supplies are used to apply paints, coatings, and stains to surfaces and equipment to protect them and refresh their appearance.

Interior paints and stains are suitable for furniture, floors, walls, ceilings, and other indoor surfaces. Exterior paints and stains are designed for buildings, houses, decks, patios, driveways, or fences. Brushes, rollers, sprayers, trays, drop cloths, and other painting supplies help painters apply paints, stains, and coatings neatly and efficiently.

Paint and coating applicators vary depending on the substrate being covered. Paint brushes are dipped into liquid paints and coatings and applied to a surface to distribute the coatings evenly. Roller covers are attached to frames and dipped into paint trays to absorb the paint. Paint Rollers are run across a flat surface to transfer and adhere the paint. Sponges, cloths, and paint pads cover smaller areas like trim work and provide textured appearances.

Electric paint sprayers propel paints and coatings at high pressure to cover large areas evenly. These sprayers can also direct a thin stream to coat intricate surfaces like grillwork where other tools will not reach. Other applicators include paint edgers and coating squeegees. Many of these elements also are sold in combination kits.
